Healthy Baking - Out with the old, In with the new

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

The era of healthy baking has arrived. The demographic dividend of our country, led by youth population is the best among the world and with growing consciousness around health and well being, baking as a segment has been calling out loud for disruption.

People understand the importance of healthy lifestyle and have been taking deep interest in knowing what they have been consuming and its aftereffects for eg many chocolate brands use processed sugar, bad quality chocolate compounds and harmful oils, which in turn lead us toward graver danger in due course of time.

And all this to save some cost instead of offering healthy alternatives like use of pure cocoa butter, couverture chocolates and olive oil, healthy nuts & seeds which come at a premium but offer great experience, are diet friendly and even can lead to a lot of positives.

Healthy baking does not focus only on reducing or removing trans fats, salts, sugars or gluten, but also aims to introduce or increase the health-supporting ingredients of baked goods. In addition to whole grains, bakers are responding to consumers’ increasing demands for baked products fortified with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Time has come for us to change our preferences and consume whats best for our heart, body and soul.
